Asking for Opinions

This business English video shows how to set up discussion and to ask for opinions in meetings in English. Useful phrases for asking for opinions, clarifying and summarising opinions as well as thanking and moving on to the next person or agenda item. Ways of setting up the discussion are given. Examples are modelled and grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation notes are given.

Making Suggestions

How to make suggestions in business English meetings and workplace discussions. This video looks at 'how about', 'shall', 'let's' and 'why don't we/I/you'. Grammar and pronunciation are clearly shown. The 'doer' of the action is also discussed. I also compare suggestions with recommendations. Examples are given with modelled pronunciation - slowly and then at normal speed.

This business English video presents more phrases for making suggestions - 'what if', 'I suggest', 'we could' and 'suppose we'.

Do you want to go for dinner or lunch with English speaking people? Are you socialising with business partners in English? Do you spend time at conferences or trade fairs where everybody speaks English?
If your answer is yes, then you should be able to make, accept and reject suggestions. This video shows you how you can do this. It gives you phrases you can use in these situations. Hope you enjoy this business English training tip.
